How do you suppose BABSEA and Global Visits can work together? What can Global Visits do to connect this project with groups in the US? We are primarily focused on university projects. I find universities challengng. Elementary and high schools are always looking for ways to fill the 8 hour 7 day a week curriculum; university instruction is more challenging. Increasingly students want the degree for a career or career enhancement, leaving education behind. And students are graduating from colleges and universities in the US with limited knowledge of the world. Study abroad programs cover only a small fraction of the students, and are often limited to those with better grades and the financial means to go on such programs. Yets ALL students should have an inspired opportunity to engage with others around the world. And learn.

Absolutely no objections. You mention Professor Williams. I am assuming you mean Peg Williams? I have been trying to contact her in Indianapolis, where I met her. She is wonderful!!! If you are taking a class from her, you will enjoy. How can we work together? When Global Visits was a clunky web site, we had several very engaging projects. NOw it has all the capacity and capability of facebook, yet facebook overwhelms everything......but going nowhere of meaningful education. Back soon. Betty Tonsing

A 'Wired' Mission

Go anywhere in the world, and we are 'wired' together by advancing technology. But we have yet to figure out how to 'wire' peace. Our mission is to use this technology to leap over vast cultural and geographical divides, linking students and teachers together, to talk with each other, laugh together, collaborate in a project, share pictures of our families, our favorite songs.....to be friends.

For several years, Global Visits was a pioneer using modern communications technology to linking people together from diverse cultures. We called our efforts 'non traditional' student exchanges.

Now, we join the world of 'social networking' with a serious purpose: peace and understanding.
