A 'Wired' Mission
Go anywhere in the world, and we are 'wired' together by advancing technology. But we have yet to figure out how to 'wire' peace. Our mission is to use this technology to leap over vast cultural and geographical divides, linking students and teachers together, to talk with each other, laugh together, collaborate in a project, share pictures of our families, our favorite songs.....to be friends.
For several years, Global Visits was a pioneer using modern communications technology to linking people together from diverse cultures. We called our efforts 'non traditional' student exchanges.
Now, we join the world of 'social networking' with a serious purpose: peace and understanding.

Thank you for your comment made in January, Sorry I did not respond but I did not read the message until now. I am very disheartened to read from you what I hear and see in international news about the continued suffering of the people of Sri Lanka. It is indeed very very sad, However, as the Living Letters team said to the people of Sri Lanka when we visited, we as Church accompany you in your suffering. We continue to ask God: "How ask many abductions and killings, how many women raped, how many left without limbs before the war ends?" "Why is this happening to the people of Sri Lanka?" But please don't lose hope. In church today we had a lesson from Job. Our pastor brought it home to us that the Who" question of ' is more important than the question of why and the "Who" questions tells us that God is in charge even when it appears like God is not for us. Eventually, it may appear long but eventually, God will restore SriLanka. This I believe. I know I cannot even imagine what the people go through - Our experience in Jaffna gave us a minor glimpse only into the realities of evil in the country - but we offer our friendship and compassion even when we don't seem to understand the severity of the situation. We offer our friendship and compassion to God as a sacrifice as we pray for PEACE in Sri Lanka. Shalom Selvaratnam,
